🙏 Making Merit by Offering Lunch to Monks During Buddhist Lent

🍀 September 19, 2026 🍀

🙏 It was an important Buddhist holy day.. In our community, family members and relatives joined together to prepare savory and sweet dishes to make merit by offering lunch to the monks. At the same time, we also distributed food to the white-robed lay practitioners - male and female devotees who observe religious practices at the temple
at Wat Sutthi Wanaram, Ban Nong Chim

✨ In our community
making merit and preparing food in accordance with Buddhist tradition is an important and meaningful activity in Thai culture. By offering food to monks, we create merit and bring auspiciousness to ourselves and our families. The preparation of food for merit-making and offering to monks should be done with intention and care, emphasizing "completeness" and "appropriateness" so that the ceremony proceeds correctly and fully. The amount of food offered may vary depending on the occasion and the convenience of the organizers in the community

What is important is that family members, relatives, and neighbors joined together in this beneficial and constructive activity, strengthening the close bonds between us, bringing peace, generosity, and a willingness to share with others 💛💚
